Hello everyone! We’ve got some very important things coming up over the next few weeks, so I thought I would take a minute to discuss them with you.

First, on August 1st, we will be holding a Morning Mixer/Ribbon Cutting at the Desert Star Academy in Fort Mohave. It’s a brand new building for an existing school and Margie and Tim Montgomery will have breakfast and prizes for those who attend. The mixer begins at 8 am and goes until 9:30.

On Wednesday, August 9th, we will be having our inaugural “Breakfast with John” mixer at the Chamber at 8 a.m. John, along with Chrissy, Chelsie and some Chamber Ambassadors, will meet with Chamber members in the conference room to discuss member benefits, possible events and answer your questions. We will have donuts, bagels, coffee and juice. Please bring a prospective member with you so they can hear what we have to offer and why they should be a member.

The following day, 8/10, will be a busy one. We will have another GoToMeeting at 10:30 am. This time, Board Member Steve LeSueur will be discussing our Member to Member, Job Posting and Enhanced Listing options on our web page. These are all available to our members, with the Member to Member and Job Postings being FREE!

That evening is our Jan Barrios Tribute at the AVI. This is not a somber event, but instead a party celebrating all the wonderful things Jan did for our community. It begins at 5:30 and includes Grace Black and Class Act. It is free to attend. Thanks to the Chamber Ambassadors, the AVI, Pioneer Title, the Mohave Valley/Bullhead City Association of Realtors and Desert Lawn Funeral Home for sponsoring this event.

The week ends with our Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce Board Installation/Recognition Awards Banquet on Friday, August 11th at 12 noon at the Chamber. This serves as our annual meeting, so any Chamber Member is invited. Tickets are $25 per person, or a table of 8 for $175. We will have our annual meeting, which will include a “State of the Chamber” summary, followed immediately by the Installation of the 2017-2018 Board of Directors and Officers. Following that, we will hand out awards to our Chamber Member of the Year, our Jan Barrios Ambassador of the Year and our Chamber Champions Awards. We will also be recognizing our local service organizations for their contributions to the community as well as the Chamber Community Builders.

So we have a busy next few weeks. I hope that all of you who are members take full advantage of your membership and try to attend as many of these as possible. Thanks again for your support, and I hope to see you out and about.

John C. Pynakker, Executive Director
