Once again the Aquarius Resort and Casino saw a need, stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park. A fantastic job by Mr. Sean Hammond and his staff once again as they provided much needed materials to these fine schools.
Great job Aquarius. You show what it means to be community partners.
For the 9th year in a row, Aquarius Casino Resort Team Members spent the month of July collecting pens, notebooks, markers, pencils, crayons and more in a property-wide School Supply Drive to help three local schools start the year off with the resources they need. A total of 21,886 items were collected, which was an increase of 2,998 more items or a 15.9% increase over prior year.
“Desert Valley students and staff were so excited to receive the donation of school supplies from the Aquarius.” said Sandra Brown, Principal of Desert Valley Elementary School in Bullhead City, AZ. “As the principal of Desert Valley Elementary, and previously of Coyote Canyon, I personally want to thank the community members who work at the Aquarius for donating school supplies to my school. Students who could otherwise not afford supplies will now have the necessary items to use at the beginning of the school year. Thank you Aquarius staff for caring about the needs of others”.
All five divisions: General and Administrative, Marketing and Player Development, Hotel Operations, Casino Operations, and Food and Beverage compete in a friendly competition and the rights to the yellow school bus trophy. “Aquarius Team Members have always stepped up to the plate when there is a need in our community” said Sean Hammond, General Manager of the Aquarius Casino Resort. “Many of our employees have personal connections to these schools. Realistically, if you don’t have a student that attends, then you know someone who does; you know a teacher or an administrator. Someone close to you will benefit from these supplies.”
“As the 2018-2019 school year is ready to start…. the Aquarius comes to the rescue again!!! Delivering pencils, glue sticks, notebooks, colored pencils, crayons, tissues, pencil holders, erasers and markers, all for the Bennett Bobcats!!!”, said Tammy Blessing Office Manager at Bennett Elementary School in Laughlin, NV. “As the students start arriving Monday morning, they will be ready to begin!! Thanks Aquarius and all of your wonderful employees!!!”
The Marketing and Player Development division won with 9,201 items. The schools supplies were counted, divided, and personally delivered by Aquarius Team members to Bennett Elementary School in Laughlin, NV, Desert Valley Elementary School in Bullhead City, AZ, and Black Mountain K-8 School in Golden Valley, AZ.
“Again, thank you so much for this generous donation.” said Janet Trujillo, Administrative Assistant. “I can’t put into words how much this means to our Students and Staff.”
