Nearly 150 children, ages 6 months to thirteen years, celebrated the completion of the first session of American Red Cross Swim Lessons offered at the Bullhead City Municipal Pool sponsored by the Morning Kiwanis Club of Bullhead City. Children enrolled in lessons are taught how to float, tread, and swim both competitive and survival strokes. Certified instructors also spend time every day reviewing basic sun and aquatic environment safety rules.
Since 2002, the Morning Kiwanis Club of Bullhead City has paid the $20 fee for every swimmer enrolled in Parent and Child aquatics, Level One-Introduction to Water Skills, and Level-Two-Fundamental Aquatic Skills. In total the Morning Kiwanis Club has contributed more than $150,000 and provided lessons for over 8,000 local children.
Sessions are two weeks long. Classes are half an hour each, and offered at seven different times for parents’ convenience. Each class is limited to just seven participants. Registration for the next session is Friday, June 8. Instructors and pool management will be at the Suddenlink Center, 2380 Suddenlink Way, Bullhead City 86429, from 6:30-9:30 a.m. taking registration for all morning lessons. Evening lesson registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and will conclude at 8:30 p.m. There is a $20 fee for those registering children in levels three, four, or five, stroke development, improvement, and refinement respectively. Spots are limited and the first to arrive will be registered first.
