The Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Town Hall meeting on Monday, November 6th at 5 p.m. to discuss the proposed sale of water rights and farmland in Mohave Valley to a group of out of state investors.

The Chamber believes that the proposed sale would be devastating to the economic development of not only Mohave Valley, but Fort Mohave and Bullhead City as well. Mohave County District 5 Supervisor Lois Wakimoto will be there to speak about the proposal and the subsequent letter penned by Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Gary Watson. Supervisor Watson urged the Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board to conclude that the contract should not go forward.

We urge all members, as well as any members of the public who wish to attend, to please join us for this Town Hall. Listen to the info, ask questions and decide if you think losing the water allocated to 2,215 acres of farmland as well as losing that amount of property from the tax rolls is something you are in favor of, and then come to the Mohave Valley Irrigation and Drainage District (MVIDD) Board meeting on November 7th to express your opinion.
